At The Met: Curators' Choices & The Tournament
This DVD features the following two programs from the archives of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
A 1982 exhibition in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in which no item’s purchase price exceeded $5,000 provides the framework in Curators' Choices for exploring the work of a museum curator. Five department curators are profiled, and each gives an articulate and insightful look at both their day-to-day work and the long-range value which their daily work has in serving historic preservation, and our broadening understanding of the history of man as reflected in art.

The Tournament showcases The Metropolitan Museum of Art's arms and armor collection, which is one of the world’s largest collections from the age of chivalry. With the aid of the collection’s curator, the museum’s holdings are displayed and a number of myths about the period are dispelled.
